Grainger Reports May 2012 Sales Results

Chicago, IL - Grainger today reported sales results for the month of May 2012.  Daily sales increased 13 percent versus May 2011.  Results for the month included a 5 percentage point contribution from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point decline from foreign exchange.  Organic sales on a daily basis increased 9 percent, including 6 percentage points from volume and 3 percentage points from price.  May 2012 had 22 selling days, one more than May 2011.  The 2012 second quarter will have the same number of selling days as the 2011 second quarter (64 days).
