Eaton Receives 2011 Supplier Excellence Award from Motion Industries for Reducing Cost of Doing Business and Improving Supply Chain Efficiency

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that it has received a 2011 Supplier Excellence Award from Motion Industries, an Eaton distributor based in Birmingham, Alabama.  The award, part of the distributor’s Supplier Partnership program, recognizes the efforts of Eaton to reduce Motion Industries’ cost of doing business and increase efficiency throughout the supply chain.

Eaton earned recognition for its innovative and technical support of electronic communications, such as purchase order acknowledgements, advanced shipping notifications and invoicing.  Eaton’s electronic procurement-to-payment initiatives enable the distributor to quickly three-way match invoices for immediate payment approval.

“The award from Motion Industries illustrates that we are working hard to make it easy to do business with Eaton,” said Kendall Kirkpatrick, Eaton’s sales manager—program distribution.

“Our work to help Motion Industries more easily sell Eaton’s fluid conveyance and power and motion control products across North America has led to measureable results, which directly reduce transaction costs for both Motion Industries and Eaton.”

Motion Industries’ Ellen Holladay, senior vice president, chief information officer and operational excellence officer; and Wayne Law, executive vice president and chief operations officer, presented the award to Kirkpatrick and Eaton’s Mark Gilk, director—Americas distribution sales, at Motion Industries’ national sales meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 7, 2011.

A winner of Eaton’s Top 24 Distributor Award for nine consecutive years and a veteran member of the Eaton Hydraulics Distributor Advisory Council, Motion Industries operates over 500 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
