Garland Recognized as Innovative Manufacturer

The 2011 eVolution of Manufacturing Award recognizes Garland’s ability to adapt manufacturing methods to the changing global marketplace and take manufacturing to the next level.

The Garland Company, Inc. (Cleveland, OH), manufacturer and distributor of high-performance solutions for the buildingenvelope, recently announced it has received three honors for innovation.

The 2011 eVolution of Manufacturing Award recognizes Garland’s ability to adapt manufacturing methods to the changing global marketplace and take manufacturing to the next level. The award was jointly created by the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network (MAGNET) and Smart Business magazine. Garland was recognized for several significant sustainability achievements, such as the development of the Garland Greenhouse line of environmentally responsible roofing materials and plant improvements that have enabled them to “go green” from the inside out.

Two Garland products received honorable mentions from Architectural Products magazine’s Product Innovation Awards (PIA 2011). The two products honored were Garland’s White-Knight urethane base coat product and its R-Mer Span structural standing seam roof system. The PIA recognizes products, materials and systems innovations that take commercial and institutional design to new heights.

Joe Mellott, Director of Business Development, comments, “Garland has always led the pack through a continuing series of solid advancements in roofing and other building technologies. These awards demonstrate that we continue to succeed in our quest for sound innovation.”
