PITTSBURGH -- The Board of Directors of Wesco International, Inc., a leading provider of electrical, industrial and communications MRO and OEM products, construction materials, and advanced supply chain management and logistics services, recently announced the appointment of John J. Engel as Chairman of the Board, effective May 25, 2011, in addition to his current role of President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board took this action after careful deliberation, and it marks the culmination of the succession plan announced by the Board in May 2009, in which
Mr. Engel succeeded Roy W. Haley as Chief Executive Officer effective September 2009, and Mr. Haley continued to serve as Chairman until the completion of his current term as a member of the Board of Directors in May 2011. Mr. Engel will assume the responsibility of Chairman of the Board upon Mr. Haley's retirement at the close of the annual meeting of Wesco's stockholders on May 25, 2011.
