ATLANTA and CHICAGO — Manhattan Associates, Inc. unveiled a first-of-its kind mobile warehouse application at its booth during ProMat 2015. Manhattan’s Mobile Distribution Management application provides distribution managers with insight into labor, activities, waves and tasks – all on a mobile device. By unifying this information into one view, Mobile Distribution Management leads warehouse managers and supervisors out of their offices and into the action, where they can provide real-time coaching and feedback to employees.
The new mobile application suite features innovative capabilities that allow managers to dynamically allocate work in progress directly from the DC floor, such as reprioritizing tasks, putting tasks on hold and assigning a task to a specific employee.
A recent study by Manhattan Associates found that mobility is a key factor in increasing direct engagement between warehouse supervisors and employees. One-third of the respondents stated that mobility could double the amount of time that supervisors spend providing feedback and coaching their employees.
