Fastener and Class C components distributor AFC Industries announced Monday that it has acquired Allied Inventory Systems, a suburban Dallas provider of inventory management and supply chain solutions.

Allied will join AFC’s aerospace and defense segment, which supplies parts and services to maintenance providers, OEMs and defense contractors in those markets. AFC officials said that the addition would help the company support aerospace and defense manufacturers and assemblers.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed; Allied’s business will continue to operate from its current location in McKinney, Texas.

“As we continue to expand our Aerospace & Defense platform, the goal is not simply to supply more parts,” AFC CEO Kevin Godin said in a statement. “The winners in this industry are the ones who become indispensable to the customer’s production process.”

“Joining the AFC Aerospace & Defense team allows us to continue doing what we do best while expanding the resources and capabilities we can bring to our customers,” said Allied Vice President Neal Lober.

AFC is the no. 22 distributor on ID’s most recent Big 50 list.
