In its first notable company move since being acquired by Air Liquide, Airgas announced two acquisitions on Thursday. The Radnor, PA-based company has acquired Monroe Welding Supply and Clark Industrial Supply, both effective June 1.
Monroe, LA-based Monroe Welding Supply is a single-location gas and welding distributor that had $13.6 in 2015 sales. Airgas says Monroe's 32 employees will join the Airgas Mid South Region.
San Jose, CA-based Clark Industrial Supply is a gas and welding distributor that had nearly $3 million in 2015 sales. Clark adds seven employees to the Airgas Northern California and Nevada region.
"We are pleased to welcome the associates and customers of Monroe Welding Supply and Clark Industrial Supply into the Airgas and Air Liquide families," said Airgas CEO Andrew Cichocki. "Growth through acquisition has always been a core strategy and competency for Airgas, as evidenced in the nearly 500 acquisitions we’ve completed since our inception in 1982. Now, as a part of Air Liquide, Airgas remains committed to continuing to pursue acquisition opportunities in key markets to help realize the full potential of the newly combined company."
Including these moves, Airgas has completed 22 acquisitions since June 1, 2015.
Airgas was No. 9 on Industrial Distribution's 2015 Big 50 List.
