Winsupply announced Wednesday that it added a new “local company” earlier this year in suburban Cleveland.
Cleveland Winwater, located in Independence, Ohio, officially began operations in February and held a three-day grand opening event in late May. The business will serve the area’s waterworks industry as well as the mechanical and plumbing markets; it has partnered with fellow local company Winsupply of Cleveland for plumbing customers.
Winsupply’s local companies are majority-owned by the Dayton, Ohio, construction and industrial supply giant, but those business’ leaders also own stakes in the subsidiaries.

The new subsidiary, officials said, stemmed from growing waterworks demand in the Cleveland market.
The newly opened location features a 4,500-square-foot facility, over two acres of land for truck and trailer access, and an after-hours emergency water break trailer for clamp and coupling repair.
"Creating solutions like this for our customers is part of the Winsupply difference," Petkac said in a statement.
Winsupply, the no. 3 distributor on ID’s latest Big 50 list, said that its local companies are poised to report more than $8.4 billion in sales this year.
"We have significant opportunities in Ohio across all industries, including the Winwater industry, in the near future," said Andy Wademan, Winsupply’s area leader in the region. "Our main obstacle right now is finding and growing entrepreneurs."
