IBC Adds Pittsburgh's Plant Service Co. As Newest Distributor Member

Plant Service offers a broad range of products from over 500 lines as a full-line distributor providing solutions for MRO needs to the Pennslyvania, Ohio, and West Virginia Tri-State region.

EAST GRANBY, CT — IBC has announced the addition of Plant Service Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., to its lineup independent distributor members.

A full-line industrial supply distributor providing solutions for maintenance, repair, and operation needs to the Tri-State region (Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia), Plant Service Co., offers a broad range of quality products from over 500 lines.

The recent recipient of a Siemens small business award, Plant Service Co. represents major manufacturers like 3M, Ingersoll-Rand, Starrett, Armstrong and Enerpac, among others. The company specializes in cutting tools, hand and power tools, precision tools, hoists, abrasives, coolants and lubricants, shop equipment, safety products, bandsaw blades, and general MRO supplies.

"We also offer factory authorized repair and service capabilities for air tools and hoists (air and electric) and custom weld high-speed bandsaw blades in our facilities," said Bill Douds, VP of finance. Thanks to its new status as an IBC member, the distributor will gain access to an even wider range of suppliers within its core product areas.

"We’re already working with about 40 percent of IBC’s suppliers, so it made sense to join the organization and start working with even more of its manufacturers," said Douds, who sees Plant Service Co., as a solid addition to the group’s existing roster of distributors – most of which are focused on delivering high levels of customer service and support.

"We believe we are one of the most progressive industrial distributors in our area. Our motto has been dynamic distribution through added value. Customers define what values are important to them and we strive to fulfill those needs. Values can include customized inventory, online ordering, proactive expediting, having a knowledgeable inside and outside sales team to name a few. Customer service is our number one priority,’” said Douds. “After all, ‘service’ is in our name."

Nancy Schwind, IBC’s Director of Business Development, said that, as a traditional industrial supply house, Plant Service Company does a good job of supporting the Tri-State market with its products and services. "In business for over 45 years, their specialty is in servicing the fabricated metals, mining, and rail industries," said Schwind. "We are looking forward to this partnership."
