Winsupply Inc. has acquired an East Texas distributor of waterworks supplies and construction-related products, company officials announced Tuesday.

The Ohio-based construction and industrial distributor — no. 3 on ID’s latest Big 50 list — said that the addition of Rural Pipe & Supply would bolster its presence in “the dynamic Texas waterworks market.”

Rural Pipe & Supply, founded in 1999, provides PVC and HDPE pressure pipe, sewer pipe and fittings, irrigation pipe, cast iron pipe and other products at its flagship Rural Pipe & Supply location in Jasper, Texas, and its Rural Pipe & Plumbing Supply storefront in Livingston, Texas. The company serves contractors, residential customers and municipalities, Winsupply officials added.

Founders and owners Tommy and Amanda Shaver will remain with the company in “leadership roles.” Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"This deal aligns perfectly with our decentralized model, allowing us to quickly integrate a partner where we can add immediate value,” Winsupply Inc. President Jeff Dice said in a statement.

The transaction is Winsupply’s second acquisition of the year; the distributor added Central Corp. in Wisconsin in February.
