Chemicals distributor Shrieve Chemical has acquired a counterpart in the U.K., company officials announced Tuesday.

Shrieve said the addition of FIS Chemicals Ltd. in Aberdeen, Scotland, would expand its product portfolio and bolster its presence in “key end markets.” FIS is a formulator, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance chemicals for the oil and gas, renewable energy, marine, hospitality, logistics and other industries.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"This combination expands our capabilities and deepens our relationships with customers across key industrial end markets,” Shrieve CEO Joey Gullion said in the announcement. “By bringing these teams together, we are better positioned to serve our customers and suppliers while continuing to build on the strong relationships we have established.

“Shrieve's complementary product portfolio, global reach and operational resources will further enhance our capabilities while preserving the customer relationships and technical expertise that define FIS,” added FIS CEO Kenny Woods.
