HOUSTON — MRC Global Inc., No. 7 on Industrial Distribution's 2014 Big 50 List, announced Tuesday that its U.S. subsidiary, McJunkin Red Man Corporation, has been awarded a three-year integrated supply agreement with the largest combined oil and gas producer in California. This agreement covers all project requirements, maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, and the managing of all materials located at the largest oil and gas warehouse facility in the San Joaquin Basin.
"We are pleased that this customer has chosen our MRC team to be their integrated supply partner," Andrew Lane, MRC Global Chairman, President & CEO said. "We are proud to have been given this opportunity to work alongside them and do our part to help them provide energy for California."
With assets located exclusively in California, this customer is the state's largest producer of oil and gas on a gross-operated basis with approximately 2.3 million net acres covering California's four major oil and gas basins. Their Elk Hills Field is one of the largest oil and gas fields in the U.S. and supplies more than 40 percent of California's gas production and 5 percent of the state's oil production.
By integrating the two companies' efforts, MRC will effectively manage the warehousing operations with experienced and knowledgeable MRC employees onsite at the customer's facility. The agreement will require full systems integration, logistics management and the replenishment of multiple remote inventory locations throughout the field.
"I am especially proud of our excellent team in the San Joaquin Basin," Lane said. "With the signing of this agreement, MRC is now the primary provider of integrated supply services to the three largest oil and gas producers in the San Joaquin Basin. That accomplishment is, in large part, due to our exceptional, service-oriented people, focus on quality products and commitment to safety. I look forward to continuing to create value for our customers in the region where, 27 years ago, our company signed its very first integrated supply agreement."
