Western Illinois University's (Macomb, IL) Department of Management and Marketing is partnering with several regional community colleges to offer the first-ever "Discover Supply Chain Management Day" Tuesday, March 6 in the Quad Cities.
The programming, in partnership with Black Hawk College and Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, will be held at the new WIU-Quad Cities Riverfront Campus in Moline, IL. The event is designed to provide a networking opportunity between WIU and its partners with employers, companies, students, faculty and area high school business faculty and staff.
Corporate partners will be given the chance to meet with students from WIU and the community colleges, as well as learn about each company's career or internship opportunities.
The "Discover Supply Chain Management Day" kicks off at 11 a.m. with lunch with all corporate and educational institution participants. At that time a discussion and presentation of supply chain management and logistics education programming in the Quad Cities region will be held in rooms 103 and 103.
The event then runs from noon to 4:45 p.m. in rooms 103 and 104 and in the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Grand Atrium. Dinner with company representatives, students and faculty and staff begins at 5 p.m. From 6 – 8 p.m. there will be educational and company presentations, all in rooms 103 and 104.
Undergraduate supply chain management majors and minors, pre-business major and MBA students and community college logistics degree students interested in related careers are invited to attend.
There is no cost to attend the event, but registration is required by Feb. 29 by contacting Anna James, WIU Department of Management and Marketing, [email protected].
