NAED Education & Research Foundation Announces Annual Campaign

NAED's foundation chair challenges the industry to contribute to the campaign, as well as education and training opportunities.

The NAED Education & Research Foundation’s 2014-2015 Annual Campaign is now underway. Launched with the theme β€” Educate. Innovate. Participate. β€” members are not only encouraged to contribute to the campaign but also to participate by taking advantage of the education and training available as a direct result of the campaign. The funds collected from this campaign are used to develop and update industry-specific training programs and education that the NAED offers its members.

NAED Foundation Chair Larry Stern, President of Standard Electric Supply in Milwaukee, leads this year’s campaign efforts. β€œI’ve seen firsthand how the Foundation’s educational initiatives and research make a difference,” said Stern. β€œI wholeheartedly believe in the value we provide to the industry. So much so that I have committed to increase Standard Electric Supply’s usual contribution five-fold if the NAED Foundation receives at least $120,000 in contributions by December 31, 2014.”

Past contributions from members have enabled:

  • Members to take nearly 13,000 manufacturer training courses last year
  • Twenty-one individuals to graduate from Branch Management University
  • More than 9,500 unique users that took courses through the NAED Learning Center in 2013

β€œOur success is tied to the generous support we receive from the industry,” explained Michelle McNamara, senior vice president of NAED and executive director of the NAEDFoundation. β€œEvery contribution counts towards enhancing the channel’s greatest competitive advantage – our educated workforce.”

For more than 45 years, the NAED Foundation has provided members with the educational tools they need to grow and succeed. Continuing support enhances the programs that cultivate a more knowledgeable and effective workforce in all areas of business.

All donations to the NAED Foundation are tax-deductible and go to program development. Contributors to the 2014-2015 Annual Campaign will receive a recognition letter, a listing in tED magazine, and acknowledgement at all NAED regional conferences and the National Meeting.
