CLEVELAND, Ohio—Jergens Industrial Supply (JIS), a division of Jergens, Inc., recently announced that it has acquired the assets of the Cutting Tool and Industrial Supply Division of The George Whalley Company. Together, JIS and The George Whalley Company offer 100 years of combined experience and, with this acquisition, JIS becomes the largest and most technically advanced industrial distributor within 150 miles of Cleveland.
The George Whalley Company, founded in 1937, established itself as a national leader in the cutting tool industry by providing the technical support necessary to differentiate itself from supply and catalog houses, and it is in this service expertise that perfect balance with JIS starts. Jergens Industrial Supply is the only industrial distributor that shares space with a manufacturing company, an advantage of perspective, since JIS applies their 50 years of specialized technical knowledge to shorten set-up times, reduce cycle times, reduce tooling costs, increase production, and optimize speed for customer companies. Both JIS and The George Whalley Company, as distributors of metalworking consumables and related products, offer technical service and product training programs, vendor and usage control programs, inventory management, cost saving analysis, and more.
Matt Schron, Jergens Industrial Supply General Manager, says, “By bringing together JIS and the Whalley Company, we will be able to better leverage the knowledge and experiences both companies have to better service our end users.”
He adds that the acquisition also gives JIS the opportunity to partner with some of the world’s best suppliers, while at the same time improving the customer experience by increasing efficiency.
Whalley Company president George Whalley says, “Our combined product lines and experience are a perfect fit and will offer all of our customers the resources of two industry leaders.”
