Würth Group Boosts 2016 1st Half Sales 8.6%, Tops 70K Employees

The assembly and fastening materials distributor said that growth in local currencies increased 10 percent from a year earlier, with strong growth in southern Europe and Germany.

Kunzelsau, Germany-based Würth Group — No. 2 on Industrial Distribution's 2015 Big 50 List — announced Monday that its 2016 first half sales increased by 8.6 percent year-over-year to $6.55 billion.

The assembly and fastening materials distributor said that growth in local currencies increased 10.0 percent from a year earlier, with strong growth in southern Europe and Germany.

The company stated that when taking acquisitions into account, its headcount increased by 2.7 percent during the first half of 2016 to 70,847. It reached the 70,000 mark at the beginning of June.
