Knoxville, TN - BCR Software has released Titan, a new version of their full-featured ERP software product for wholesale distributors, running on the Sybase Advantage database server. Barry Evans, president of BCR, says that the company has already converted a number of their existing clients and expects to migrate most of their clients to Titan over the next few months. Evans says that the company investigated a number of database products before selecting Sybase Advantage. "Advantage allowed us to migrate all of the screens, functionality, and business logic from our previous release. So our clients don't have to do any retraining. To them Titan looks and operates the same. But Advantage gives us a lot of new development opportunities that weren't available with the previous database."
Evans also says that part of the reason for the selection of Advantage was its low cost. "Our clients are small distributors who are very cost conscious. We can't saddle them with expensive license fees and added support charges. With Advantage we were able to keep the expense of the new database negligible."
Robert Kelton, CFO of Coastal Electric Supply of Houma, LA, a client of BCR since 2007, recently converted to the Titan release. "We’re very happy with the new BCR release Titan. The Sybase Advantage database server is very fast. And Titan's features are comparable to other software costing much more."
