Walter (Greer, SC) has expanded the product range of the Drion·tec D-Spade D5142 double-sided exchangeable tip drill with the addition of diameters from 26.00 to 31.75 mm (1.02 to 1.25 in.). The diameter range is now from 12 to 31.75 mm (0.47 to 1.25 in). In addition, the tool body can drill holes to a depth of 8 times the diameter (Dc), as well as the previous capability of drilling depths of 3 and 5 times Dc.
The symmetrical Drion·tec D-Space design has two cutting edges per the DS42 exchangeable tip; therefore, users get twice as many cutting edges compared to the conventional single point drill designs available on the market. This design helps reduce the cost per cutting edge to provide significant cost savings.
The replaceable tip drill features six cooling channels, or three coolant outlets per side — on the main cutting edge, chisel edge and circumference — to maximize cooling and extend tool life.
