HOUSTON – International Paint, an AkzoNobel company and leading provider of high-performance protective coatings, linings and fire protection products, has entered into a strategic distribution agreement through its Mexican affiliate, Compania Mexicana de Pinturas International SA de CV, Sayer Lack Mexicana SA de CV. As a result, Sayer Lack will supply International Paint’s Marine and Protective Coatings products in Mexico.

The agreement with Sayer Lack, a current licensee of AkzoNobel’s Glidden decorative paints and distributor of Devoe protective coatings brands in Mexico, allows International Paint to leverage Sayer Lack’s national distribution footprint in Mexico to achieve competitive coverage of a geographically large territory.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to leverage AkzoNobel’s long-term relationship with Sayer Lack to now include the company’s global International Paint brand,” said Martin Criado, International Paint’s Marine and Protective Coatings Manager for Mexico & Latin America. “Sayer Lack has a long-standing presence and leading role in the Mexican coatings market, which complements International Paint’s business objectives of better serving our customers in key markets.”

For more than 100 years, International Paint has led the coatings industry in protective coatings technologies that meet the changing needs of their global customers in the oil, gas, chemical processing, power, pulp and paper, rail, steel structure, mining and marine industries. This new distribution agreement is expected to generate a substantial growth in revenues for the company’s Marine and Protective Coatings business unit in the Americas over the next three to five years.
