PTDA Canadian Conference Visits Ottawa June 9-10

For the 15th year, key decision makers of the Canadian power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry gather for business networking, impactful market-driven education, a manufacturer industry showcase and more.

CHICAGO  Registration is now open for the PTDA 2016 Canadian Conference, to be held June 9-10, 2016, at The Westin Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. For the 15th year, key decision makers of the Canadian power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry gather for business networking, impactful market-driven education, a manufacturer industry showcase and more.

Networking opportunities abound at the PTDA 2016 Canadian Conference. Starting with an optional golf outing, participants have many opportunities to meet channel partners — both new and established — in comfortable settings such as the Industry Showcase Welcome Reception, featuring tabletop exhibits from every registered PTDA manufacturer member company. For the second year, meeting rooms can be reserved for one-on-one meetings to round out prime organized business networking opportunities.

Along with networking, business market-driven education takes center stage. Participants will hear information targeted to solve the most vexing needs of the industry including information on corporate culture, hiring, knowledge transfer and an update on the Canadian mining industry.

Leading off is “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast,” by industry veteran Randy Disharoon, VP global accounts, Rexnord Industries LLC, a talk sure to open some eyes regarding corporate change. Deborah Fodor, a veteran recruiter, dishes with “Secrets of a Recruiter” to help those hiring save money and get the best talent. Peggy Grall, a 23-year veteran of the corporate coaching world, talks about building your team. Finally, Carl Weatherell, executive director/CEO, Canada Mining Innovation, talks about the direction Canada’s mining industry is headed to help participants meet the needs arising from this vital end-user market.

“The PTDA 2016 Canadian Conference is laser-focused on the needs of Canadian power transmission/motion control distributors. There is so much to love about meeting in Ottawa, my home town, especially the central location,” said Mitch Bouchard, secretary & treasurer of General Bearing Service Inc. and co-chair of the PTDA 2016 Canadian Conference Planning Committee along with Paul Meo, president, NTN Bearing Corp. of Canada Ltd.

Meo agreed, adding, “Distributors will not be able to find this kind of industry-specific, targeted information delivered at this level anywhere else in Canada. It’s truly an event not-to-be-missed.”

In addition to high profile Canadian business topics, a bit of historical context will be served up at the beautiful Canadian War Museum where participants will enjoy business networking and dinner in the elegant Lebreton Gallery, featuring its collection of tanks, artillery and other large artifacts that tell the story of war from the eighteenth century to the present.

PTDA is a member-driven organization led by volunteers who work with their peers in the industry to develop relevant and timely content and programming. Using the expertise of several of the industry’s top executives, the programming for the Canadian Conference is specifically designed for those who sell and manufacture PT/MC products in Canada. With new sessions each year, the conference goal is to inform and educate with relevant and timely material.

In 2015, more than 200 distributors and manufacturers attended the PTDA Canadian Conference. A discounted registration rate is in effect until May 11, 2016. Participants who register by that date will save $50 off their registration fee.
