Machine tool manufacturer Makino has named Yamazen Inc. as its exclusive distributor in New England, company officials announced last week.

Makino officials said that the company is “aligning its regional strategy” to support manufacturers, and that the agreement with Yamazen would provide value, technical engagement and faster response times to its customers in the Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island markets.

“Everything we do starts with our customers,” Makino Inc. Executive Vice President Bob Henry said in a statement. “Partnering with Yamazen in New England allows us to strengthen local support, improve responsiveness and ensure our customers continue to get the most out of their Makino investment.”

Makino and Yamazen officials said that the companies would work “in close coordination to ensure a seamless transition.” Yamazen, based in suburban Chicago, distributes machine tools, automation solutions and engineered systems across North America.

“Makino’s technology leadership combined with Yamazen’s customer-first execution creates a powerful advantage for manufacturers in this region,” said Yamazen President James Hansen. “We’re focused on helping customers grow — whether that means increasing throughput, improving quality, or taking on more complex work.”
