Global Industrial Company will become the "official industrial supplies partner” of the Professional Women’s Hockey League — the first agreement of its kind with a sports league for the company.
The multi-year agreement is the first launched under the PWHL’s sponsorship sales agreement with Oak View Group, an arena and live venue developer that partnered with Global Industrial last year.
Under the agreement, staff charged with maintaining the ice surface at five of the PWHL’s eight franchises will be branded as the "Global Industrial Ice Crew.” The company will provide ice shovels, waste bins, carts and other Global Industrial-branded products to those crews.
"Supporting ice crews across the United States and Canada is a natural fit for our brand," Ali Moghaddam, the president of Global Industrial Canada, said in a statement. "Hockey is deeply rooted in communities across North America, and we're excited to partner with the PWHL to support world-class competition while increasing engagement with its rapidly growing fan base."
The Long Island-based distributor — no. 18 on ID’s latest Big 50 list — is also the official industrial supplier of the NHL’s New York Islanders.
