Fastenal announced Thursday that the company has become a member of the American Red Cross’ Disaster Responder Program.
Organizations in the Disaster Response program pledge to provide financial support and in-kind donations year-round, which helps the Red Cross' emergency response and preparedness efforts. In particular, the program helps train volunteers, stage supplies, and upgrade both technology and infrastructure.
Fastenal, which has worked with the Red Cross on blood drives for its local employees since 2012, will direct a portion of its donations to the organization’s Service to the Armed Forces program.
"Fastenal is proud to support the Red Cross through our Blue Team Blood Drive, and we're excited to deepen our impact through the Disaster Responder Program," Fastenal Marketing Director Sally Olson said in a statement. "The expanded partnership enhances our efforts to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and displacement."
