Hoist and lifting equipment manufacturers William Hacket and Vulcan Hoist announced Wednesday that they have formed a “strategic partnership.”

The pact joins U.K.-based William Hackett’s lifting, rigging and chain solutions and Vulcan’s electric hoist and trolley production in Montreal in a reciprocal product sharing agreement. Beginning next year, Vulcan’s North American customers will have more access to William Hackett’s product lineup — starting with the latter’s Quad Pawl hoists and expanding throughout the year.

William Hackett officials also said the company would benefit from Vulcan’s expertise in electric hoists, and that the overall agreement is a “significant milestone” in its expansion into Canada.

“This strategic partnership is the perfect fit for both parties. Like William Hackett, Vulcan has a family-run ethos with strong family values and a customer-first approach,” William Hackett CEO Mick Howard said in a statement. “By working together, we strengthen each other and most importantly, bring the benefits of a broader product range and enhanced stock availability to our clients worldwide.”
