Meritus Gas Partners announced Friday that it has acquired Metroplex Welding Supply, a Dallas distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies.
Meritus officials said that Metroplex and its five locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area would bolster its existing presence in “one of the top industrial markets in the United States.” The company currently lists 15 locations across north-central and northeastern Texas.
“Metroplex has built an exceptional reputation over the last five decades, and we’re excited to build on that foundation,” Meritus Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions Steve Byers said in a statement. “This acquisition continues the strong momentum we’re seeing as we expand our national network of best-in-class independent distributors.”
Metroplex President Mike Bush added that Meritus shares “our commitment to customers, employees, and local decision-making.”
“We believe this partnership creates outstanding opportunities for our team while preserving the legacy we have built over the past 50 years,” Bush said.
Metroplex will continue to operate under its current name. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
