EMS announced Monday that it has acquired a fellow Florida aluminum products distributor that officials said would expand its capabilities and footprint.
South Florida-based EMS said that its purchase of Tampa-based American Metals Supply would add a provider of industrial, commercial, residential and patio aluminum products with a national footprint and a “highly service-oriented operating model.”
“Like EMS, American Metals Supply has a high-touch service model that combines responsive service and consistent execution on the aluminum products that contractors and manufacturers rely on every day,” EMS CEO Mike Swedick said in a statement. “The acquisition expands EMS’ geographic reach and improves our capabilities across key end markets.”
“We’re excited to join EMS as we accelerate our growth trajectory, expand our capabilities, and deliver on our commitment to our customers,” added AMS CEO Kevin Gonzalez.
The deal is EMS’ seventh since it was acquired by private equity firm Wynnchurch Capital in 2019. Financial terms were not disclosed.
