SRS Distribution announced Friday that it acquired LS Building Products, a central Illinois distributor of roofing, lumber, millwork and other building materials.

SRS officials said that the acquisition would add volume in a new market and fill “a gap in our Midwest branch network.” LS operates three production facilities and four distribution hubs in Illinois, and employs a staff of more than 220.

Troy Reed, Matt Jaeger and Dan Schumacher, the company’s former co-owners, will continue to lead the business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“After spending a great deal of time with the SRS team over the last several months, we are confident that our combined platform will create new opportunities for employees and customers,” Reed, Jaeger and Schumacher said in a joint statement.

The purchase was also SRS’ second acquisition in three days: the Home Depot subsidiary on Wednesday announced its acquisition of Long Island building products distributor Sider Lumber & Supply.
