Wisconsin HVAC and plumbing supply distributor First Supply announced Tuesday that it has acquired Illinois counterpart Able Distributors.

First Supply officials said that the addition of the longtime HVAC distributor would strengthen its presence in the Chicagoland market.

“We continue to invest in markets and capabilities that position us to serve customers better and operate more efficiently,” First Supply President and CEO Katie Poehling Seymour said in a statement. “Partnerships like this allow us to expand in a way that makes sense for our business, while giving our teams the tools, infrastructure, and support they need to succeed.”

Able will continue to operate with its existing staff of 48 and its current locations, including two in Chicago and others in suburbs Northfield and McHenry, Illinois.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This partnership allows us to offer more inventory, more support and more solutions while delivering the same level of service our customers expect every day,” Able President Michael Bleier said in a statement.
