Applied Adhesives has acquired an English counterpart that expands the company’s footprint to the U.K., officials announced Thursday.
The Minnesota-based adhesives manufacturer and distributor said that the addition of Interlock Adhesives would open “new growth opportunities for our company." Interlock, founded in 1993 and based in Scunthorpe, England, provides solutions for packaging, labeling and bookbinding customers and is a “premier partner” of German industrial giant Henkel.
"This acquisition represents an exciting chapter for Applied as we expand into the U.K. market,” Applied President and CEO John Feriancek said in a statement. “Interlock's deep market knowledge and customer-first approach align perfectly with our culture and vision.”
Interlock's staff and senior leadership —Tony, Michael and David Blott — will remain in place and “spearhead development,” officials said.
"Partnering with Applied gives us access to additional resources and strategic support to accelerate growth in the U.K. and beyond," said Michael Blott, the company’s joint managing director. "Our customers will continue to receive the same high level of service they've come to expect, while benefiting from expanded capabilities and technical expertise."
