Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, has announced the expansion of its relationship with Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) for transportation management services.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, has announced the expansion of its relationship with Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) for transportation management services. Transplace will continue to serve as IPG’s transportation and warehousing partner in the U.S. and Mexico, and expand its partnership to manage the company’s freight network in Canada as well.

“Since we began our partnership, Transplace has helped streamline our transportation management while achieving greater visibility and control of the supply chain,” said Joe Tocci, senior vice president of global sourcing and supply chain, Intertape Polymer Group. “Transplace’s experienced team established improved processes and provided industry expertise to drive continuous improvement. We look to Transplace to deliver even greater value and savings as we extend the relationship to include our plant and warehouse sites in Canada.”

Since 2006, IPG has leveraged Transplace’s logistics technology and industry expertise to manage its domestic transportation, and in 2010, extended the partnership to include the management of shipments out of the company’s distribution center in Monterrey, Mexico. By expanding the partnership to include IPG’s Canadian plant, Transplace will now provide a comprehensive transportation solution across North America to better meet the company’s business goals and serve its customers. In addition, participation in Transplace’s strategic account management program will provide IPG with insight to industry best practices and better position them to identify opportunities for heightened cost and service performance improvements.

“By leveraging Transplace’s logistics technology and industry knowledge along with our strategic account management process model, IPG is positioned to achieve greater success throughout North America,” said Frank McGuigan, president of transportation management, Transplace. “As a result of the deeply collaborative working partnership Transplace and IPG have established over the last eight years, we continue to strengthen and evolve our relationship. As we move to manage IPG’s entire North American transportation operations, Transplace will enhance optimization of shipments and streamline transportation operations to help broaden IPG’s customer base.”
