The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors and the Ai Applied Consortium announced a new framework that officials hope will help distributors responsibly implement artificial intelligence technologies.
The industry group’s “AI Governance Architecture,” NAW leaders said, provides “practical guidance” on a range of issues facing companies seeking to deploy AI, from governance and risk management to transparency and workforce development.
The group added that the framework emphasizes “human-centered deployment” to improve decision-making, strengthen supply chain resilience and customer confidence, and provide employees with new skills.
The NAW’s announcement also referenced a nine-page “policy brief” addressed to federal and state policymakers and other stakeholders, which, in part, called for a “single federal standard” for governing AI.
“By bringing together industry leaders to develop this governance architecture, we’re helping companies embrace AI with confidence while ensuring people remain at the center,” NAW President and CEO Eric Hoplin said in the announcement.
