IBC on Monday announced the launch of a new initiative designed to help its members develop their in-house technology systems.
The buying group said that its Member Technical Services offering would provide a resource for IBC distributors who are looking to enhance their current systems — and, in turn, reduce their reliance on third-party providers.
The organization also announced the appointment of Chris Abato as its director of member services. Abato, who joins IBC after more than 20 years at ERP software developer Epicor, will be focused on helping members with electronic purchase orders, EDI onboarding, ERP-to-e-commerce integrations, and connectivity challenges, the group said.
“At IBC, we are committed to helping our members move forward together through smarter use of technology,” IBC President and CEO Ron Nuñez said in the announcement. “This new service is a major step in that direction.”
“There are so many opportunities to streamline processes and improve connectivity without major investment,” added Abato. “My goal is to make these solutions accessible, practical, and impactful for every member.”
