Makita (La Mirada, CA) continues its expansion of the 40V | 80V max XGT System with the announcement of 18 new products. The new XGT® releases span across trades and applications. It's part of Makita XGT, an expanding system of 40V and 80V max cordless equipment and tools. XGT gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact drivers to equipment-grade products including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters – all powered by 40V max XGT batteries. For metalworking applications, Makita offers the following:

  • 40V max XGT Brushless 5" X-LOCK Angle Grinder, with Electric Brake, AWS Capable (GAG11) – Cuts #5 rebar up to 60% faster than predecessor LXT models (XAG04). The innovative X-LOCK quick change system enables up to 5-times faster accessory changes.
  • 40V max XGT Brushless 5" X-LOCK Paddle Switch Angle Grinder, w/ Electric Brake (GAG13) – Cuts #5 rebar up to 60% faster than predecessor LXT models (XAG04). Also features the X-LOCK quick change mechanism.
