Canadian HVAC and refrigeration distributor The Master Group has acquired a longtime counterpart in New England, company officials announced Monday.

Distributor Corporation of New England, the company said, provides Carrier Corp. and other HVAC parts and equipment from eight locations across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The distributor said the move would bolster its presence in the Northeast and support its overall expansion in the U.S. market.

Michele and Nancy Kolligian, the company said, would continue to manage DCNE through a “smooth transition.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"The success of DCNE is first and foremost a reflection of what the Kolligian family and its team have built over the years," The Master Group CEO Louis St-Laurent said in a statement. "With a strong reputation grounded in customer trust, technical expertise and service excellence, DCNE represents exactly the type of organization we look to partner with as we continue to grow our presence in the U.S."

"Our customers can be reassured that they will continue to receive the same quality of professional partnerships, technical knowledge and service commitment they have come to expect,” added Michele Kolligian, DCNE’s president and CEO.
