SouthernCarlson has acquired a Northeast Ohio construction distributor in its second M&A deal since its acquisition by a private equity firm.

The fastener, tool and construction supply distributor on Tuesday announced its purchase of W Construction Supply, a provider of concrete and masonry, rebar fabrication and equipment rental with locations in Barberton and North Canton, Ohio.

SouthernCarlson officials said the deal would add rebar fabrication capabilities to its overall platform, while W Construction Supply would benefit from a broader product portfolio and national scale.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Gary [Parsons] and his team have built a great business with deep customer relationships, strong capabilities, and a reputation for providing best-in-class service,” SouthernCarlson President CEO Andrei Militaru said in a statement. “Their rebar fabrication expertise is a natural fit, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth while preserving the name, service and culture that customers know and trust."

The company will continue operating under its current name “through the transition,” officials said.

Los Angeles-based Truelink Capital bought SouthernCarlson from Kyocera late last year. The business acquired Maryland building products distributor Greenwald Supply Direct in March.
