Canadian distribution group Ficodis Group announced Wednesday that it has acquired a provider of PPE and safety solutions.
Tytan Glove and Safety provides hand protection, safety apparel, respiratory protection and other products and equipment from distribution hubs in Ontario and Alberta.
Ficodis officials said that the deal would make its delivery operations more efficient throughout Canada, and noted that Tytan’s online ordering platform will complement its current distribution network.
Ficodis — part of the Descours & Cabaud Group — also said that it would reinforce “key strategic partnerships,” including the exclusive distribution of Magid protective gloves and other safety products across Canada.
The deal is Ficodis’ first health and safety-focused acquisition in more than five years, officials said. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“The addition of Tytan to the Ficodis Group strengthens our logistics network and deepens our health and safety portfolio,” Christophe Bévillard, the president of Ficodis and managing director of Descours & Cabaud North America, said in a statement. “With these new distribution locations, we are gaining responsiveness and reliability to support the major projects that will shape Canada’s economy in the coming years.”
