U.K.-based business software firm Klipboard has acquired Savance Enterprise, a developer of ERP software for distribution businesses, company officials announced earlier this month.

Savance, located in suburban Detroit, says its platform was created “specifically for customers in wholesale distribution,” including industrial supply as well as plumbing, electrical and HVAC distributors. Its system integrates accounting, purchasing, sales and warehouse management, along with supplier purchasing, inventory management and customer contracting.

Company officials said its software can serve single-location suppliers up to “complex, multi-site and warehouse organizations,” and is currently used by customers “across the United States.”

Klipboard, which has U.S. offices in North Carolina, Houston and suburban Philadelphia, said that the deal would accelerate its push into wholesale distribution in the U.S.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This acquisition strengthens our presence in the wholesale distribution market and brings additional expertise into our business, while enabling the Savance Enterprise team to offer customers a broader range of software solutions,” Klipboard CEO Ian Bendelow said in a statement.

“Joining Klipboard represents a huge opportunity for Savance Enterprise,” said Jason Plasencia, the company’s founder and CEO. “Access to the resources and expertise that Klipboard provides will enable Savance Enterprise to accelerate growth and improve our ability to deliver a great solution for both new and existing customers."
