MHS moves into a new, bigger facility, while James C. Dawes opens the company's second location after being a one-branch shop for 74 years.

Two Ohio-based longstanding independent industrial distributors recently announced the opening of new locations.

MRO and OEM supplier MHS Industrial Supply is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and last week hosted a ribbon cutting for its new facility in Mansfield, OH.

The small company's new building covers 42,000 square feet, a major upgrade from the 18,000 square foot space in Mansfield it recently moved out of.

Run by husband and wife CEO and President combo Phil and Ann Downs, MHS Industrial had 13 employees, gaining once since the company's relocation at the end of 2014.

Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative member James C. Dawes Co. has also opened a new location. The supplier of specialty and welding gases, welding supplies, and industrial supplies has announced the company's second branch, located in Cadiz, OH, effective March 20. The company is based in Martins Ferry, OH.

According to TimesLeaderOnline, the Cadiz facility is three times larger than the Martins Ferry location, will have a service shop, and a training room for safety and products.

Founded in 1941, James C. Dawes Co. has 11 employees and is headed by president Brian Dawes. Sales in 2013 were in excess of $2 million.
