White Cap announced Monday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Gierke Robinson Company, an Iowa distributor of concrete accessories and tools.

The company, established in 1919, also provides equipment rental and repair services to concrete, paving and general contractors throughout eastern Iowa, western Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin from branches in Davenport, Bettendorf, Dubuque and Waterloo, Iowa.

White Cap officials said that the deal would bolster its footprint, product offering and service capabilities in “a growing Midwestern market.”

"Gierke Robinson has had an incredible reputation as an expert in construction equipment for more than a century," White Cap CEO Alan Sollenberger said in a statement. "We are excited to welcome their talented associates to the White Cap family."

"I'm thrilled about what this next chapter will mean for our customers, associates and business," added Gierke Robinson owner Terry Kilburg. "Joining White Cap will allow us to serve our customers with expanded solutions, greater resources, and the same dedication to exceptional service that has always defined our company."

Terms of the agreement, including financial details and a timetable for closing, were not disclosed.

White Cap ranked at no. 7 on ID’s most recent Big 50 list.
