Wisconsin wire, cable and connectivity products supplier IEWC has acquired Upstate New York wire and cable distributor Simcona, company officials announced earlier this month.

IEWC said that the Rochester-based company would expand its reach in the Northeast and bolster its range of applied solutions. Simcona’s wire and cable distribution operations, along with its electronic component sourcing business, will join IEWC’s OEM segment, while its control panel manufacturing division will complement the IEWC controls business established last year following its acquisition of Bevco Engineering.

Simcona’s two locations in Rochester locations will remain operational under IEWC, the company said. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This is a meaningful step forward as we continue investing in areas where we see opportunity for long-term growth and customer impact,” IEWC President and CEO Mike Veum said in a statement. “By joining IEWC, Simcona’s capacity and regional presence strengthen our ability to serve customers, scale our operations, and expand the applied solutions we deliver across our OEM and infrastructure markets.”
