Ford Sees 25 Percent April Sales Growth Over Last Year

DETROIT (AP) — Ford Motor Co. says April sales rose 25 percent from the same month last year as the auto industry continued to see signs of recovery. Ford says sales of its cars, trucks and SUVs all were higher compared with last April, when the industry was in a severe downturn. But sales fell 9 percent from March, when the industry saw a boost from big incentive spending led by Toyota Motor Corp.

Ford says sales of its cars, trucks and SUVs all were higher compared with last April, when the industry was in a severe downturn. But sales fell 9 percent from March, when the industry saw a boost from big incentive spending led by Toyota Motor Corp.

Sales of the F-Series pickup rose 42 percent thanks to a new Super Duty truck and gradual recovery in the construction business.
