COSTA MESA, CA -- SYSPRO, a leading provider of visionary, pragmatic ERP software, recently announcedthat Seafresh Trading, Inc., a frozen seafood importing and distribution company based in San Gabriel, Calif., has chosen SYSPRO ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software to run the company’s operations. According to Jimmie Dang, Seafresh Trading President, the company had been utilizing outdated software that, among other failings, did not accommodate the industry standard of maintaining inventory by lot numbers. Seafresh Trading distributes its product to cold storage units where lot numbers are assigned to the received product to facilitate pick up by contracted customers. Because the incumbent Seafresh software could only track inventory by unit, the risk for errors was evident.
Seafresh Trading, says Dang, had been seeking a SQL-Windows-based software solution for an extensive period. “We were aware of many companies that offered software for seafood-related industries,” he says, “but the solutions have long since matured.” His interest in SYSPRO ERP was heightened by the software’s flexibility and the ease with which it can be customized. Dang looks to SYSPRO ERP software to “…control all aspects of our operations – financials, sales, inventories, logistics and management reports. We have an east coast operation that tracks inventories by container,” and, he adds, “SYSPRO will enable us to do cost analyses and other reports to gauge the operation’s profitability.
“We need to run the business better, and SYSPRO will enable us to do this,” concludes Dang.
