Optimas Solutions Seeks Scale, Predictability in ‘Transformation Journey’

Why Mexico was an “obvious choice” for the distributor’s forthcoming fastener plant.

Following the supply chain hiccups of the pandemic years — and amid the possibility that continued tensions around the world could bring them back — Optimas Solutions is placing a new emphasis on shrinking its supply footprint.

The Illinois distributor and service provider has also long produced components of its own at its headquarters in suburban Chicago and another factory in the U.K.

This year, it will add a third manufacturing site in northern Mexico — part of a broader effort to “near-shore” its operations in North America.
