Graphite Metallizing Corporation (Yonkers, NY) recently announced the release of its Tin-Based Babbitt GRAPHALLOY® materials for high-temperature bearing applications up to 350°F (175°C). According to the company, they perform as self-lubricating bearings in submerged and dry applications. They are designed to be environmentally safe, while effectively eliminating the need for grease and oil. They are an alternative for plastics, and these bearings solve lubrication problems caused by the viscosity of grease and oil that often prevents proper operation of equipment.
