Motion Industries Suing Illinois Company Over Debts

Motion Industries is suing an Alton, IL industrial supplier for its alleged failure to make contractual payments, and it's not the first time that supplier has been sued recently.

Motion Industries is taking a supplier to court over its failure to make payments.

The Madison-St. Clair Record reports that Motion Industries filed a complaint on May 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alton, IL-based Lenhardt Tool and Die Company, alleging the manufacturer failed to make contractual payments of $65,668.65 for goods and services that Motion Industries provided.

The report cites the complaint alleging that Motion Industries made repeated demands for payment. Motion is now requesting trial by jury and seeks judgement against Lenhardt for the contract payment amount, plus interest and legal fees for the lawsuit.

This isn't the first time Lenhardt Tool and Die has faced a recent lawsuit for the same reason.

In July of 2014, Bearing Headquarters Company sued Lenhardt for its alleged failure to pay $200,000 for products purchased on credit. Bearing Headquarters claimed it sold Lenhardt products from May 22, 2013 through April 11, 2014 and delivered them all, but was never paid.

Lenhardt had been making payments on the debt, though the balance was nearly $245,000 at the time of the suit.

Manta.com estimates Lenhardt Tool and Die to have annual sales of between $1-2.5 million with a staff of 5-9 employees.

Motion Industries is No. 9 on Industrial Distribution's Big 50 List.
