Atlas Copco To Acquire German Calibration Specialist

The acquired company will become part of the service division in Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area.

Sweden-based sustainable productivity solutions provider Atlas Copco announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Kalibriercentrum Bayern, which specializes in calibration services. The acquisition is expected to finalize during the first quarter of 2015.

Kalibriercentrum Bayern is headquartered near Munich with an additional laboratory in Kiel, Germany. It has 27 employees and annual revenue of about $3.4 million. The privately-owned company provides laboratory and field calibration and related services to customers in such industries as motor vehicle manufacturing and aerospace.

The acquired company will become part of the Service division in Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area.

“With this acquisition we will expand our service offering to industrial customers, initially in Germany and later in other markets,” said Mats Rahmström, President for Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area. “It will give us the opportunity to serve our customers even better and further help them increase their productivity.”
