Kimball Midwest Announces New Distribution Center In Savannah, GA

The distribution center and offices, of approximately 142,000 square feet, are expected to open in late 2014 to primarily service southeastern locations.

COLUMBUS, OhioKimball Midwest, a Columbus-Ohio based MRO Distributor, has announced the purchase of a warehouse in Savannah, Georgia to act as their southeast distribution center, allowing 95 percent of the customers serviced from the location to see next-day delivery of their orders.

“We’re excited! This is a way to service our customers better by providing a regional presence to the Southeast, just like our Dallas and Reno DCs have done,” states Steve Good, Kimball Midwest Director of Operations.

The distribution center and offices, of approximately 142,000 square feet, is expected to open in late 2014 to primarily service southeastern locations. The company will be making use of more than 5,500 square feet exclusively for office and training space. The location is expected to create several jobs in Savannah, including office and warehouse positions.

Kimball Midwest prides itself in conducting a ‘green’ business. The new Savannah distribution center is no exception and will follow the path of energy conservation that the rest of the company has implemented in recent years. Outdated lighting is being removed and replaced with LED lighting in many places to increase efficiencies. All current HVAC mechanicals will be replaced by more energy efficient equipment to reduce their carbon footprint.

Customers in the southeast region will receive the same high-quality service they expect with even faster deliveries.

“We look forward to introducing our value-added services to new customers in the southeast,” shares Matt Ries, Kimball Midwest Director of Marketing.

Kimball Midwest operates out of three other distribution centers nationwide, including its headquarters in Columbus.
