Bloomfield aerospace manufacturer-distributor Kaman Corp. said the U.S. Air Force has ordered an additional batch of bomb fuzes worth $8.5 million.

The order of joint programmable fuzes is a follow on to a previously signed contract, which now totals approximately $50.4 million, Kaman said. The fuzes, some of which will be made in Middletown, allow pilots to program a weapon while in flight.

Delivery will take place in 2015 and 2016.
