According to Channel3000.com, a local news station in Madison, WI, the Grainger Foundation has donated $25 million dollars to the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Engineering - the largest donation for the department in history.
The donation will create a new institute that will focus on advanced manufacturing, including "researching new materials that can help lower the cost of making products," says the news story. The School of Engineering anticipates 25 new hires with the funding as well.
