Linden, NJ - Michael DeVoney has been named President of Turtle & Hughes Integrated Supply (THIS), a division of Turtle & Hughes, Inc, one of the county’s largest independent electrical and industrial distributors. DeVoney succeeds Jay Drummond, who retired after 20 years of leadership.

THIS, based in Hamden, CT, partners with customers for total cost reductions by streamlining elements of their supply chain. It has implemented procurement services, storeroom management, and inventory control systems for FORTUNE 500 companies throughout North America. A large staff of professionals is embedded on-site at customer facilities across the country, in Canada and Puerto Rico, providing supply chain services and cost reduction programs.

“Michael brings unique qualifications to this position,” commented Jayne Millard, CEO of Turtle & Hughes, Inc.  “Over the past year, he has demonstrated his strong leadership abilities and wide ranging industry knowledge.  I am confident that Mike and the entire THIS team will succeed in helping us to meet our strategic goals for growth and service quality.”

In his new position, DeVoney is responsible for developing new business, operational excellence, and applying integrated supply principles garnered from his 35 years of industry experience.

DeVoney joined THIS in November 2012 as Executive Vice President and was soon named to the Turtle & Hughes Executive Committee.  In a very short time, he has made his mark on the division.  He instituted a sales management program and developed a professional supply chain services department. He also implemented a large account management process and moved the company to a new headquarters building.

Before joining Turtle & Hughes, DeVoney spent three years as the business development leader for a national utility distribution company.  His previous experience also includes eight years as a supply chain consultant, assisting primarily investor owned utilities, and 14 years working for both distributors and manufacturers.  Initially, he spent time in electrical and general contracting construction management.

During his career, DeVoney has helped to develop specific supply chain solutions for such companies as Duke Energy, Saturn Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, BP plc, Textron Aerostructures, Ontario Power Generation, Northrup Grumman, Philips Semiconductors, and NASA.  His operational experience parallels his sales career, and includes inventory management, purchasing, and IT integration projects.  He has sales experience with electrical, automation, welding, safety, and general mill supplies.

DeVoney received his MBA from the C. T. Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston, and holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Emory University.
